The incumbent in this position will be responsible for performing administrative duties as assigned for the Business Office.
These duties are to include but are not limited to typing documents and/or memos, processing JE’s, indexing JE’s, routine data entry, filing, labeling, creating folders, drafting emails, replying to emails, answering phone calls, returning phone calls assisting students, staff, and faculty in the office.

• Routine data entry
• Answering phones; greeting customers; taking messages
• Scanning and making copies
• Training new hires
• Managing schedules
• Providing support to students (tutors, peer mentors, orientation leaders)
• Conduct presentations
• Managing confidential information
• Maintain regular attendance
• Perform other job duties as assigned
Specific Duties
• Assist the Business Office departments
• Assist student’s with their student account balance, payments, payment plan, and holds.
• Process and file Journal Entries
• Routine data entry
• Help analyze student accounts in depth
• Create excel projects
• Use the Banner system
• Assist with all Business Office departments projects
• Use electronic filing system “BDMS”
• Data gathering through excel
• Assist with student orientation or presentations
• Collection calls and letters
• Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and faculty
• File documents through Banner and paper filings
• Help maintain organization of all filings
• Run errands
• Maintain regular attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
• College student at NMHU enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours
• High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
• No experience to some clerical/office experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Business Majors, but all are welcome
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially excel and word.
