What You Will Do
We are looking for a highly motivated and customer service focused individual to join our team to provide professional operations support to the Institutional Training Services (ITS) Group in the Human Resources (HR) Division.
The HR-ITS group provides initial new-hire and incumbent refresher training in environment, safety, health, security, transportation and training staff qualification through course development, content management, live and on-line instructional delivery, virtual learning experiences, and institutional course management for approximately 250 courses for the Laboratory.
The Institutional Training Services staff manages the Laboratory's primary training facilities.
The Training Coordinator 2 is an important part of the Institutional Training Services team and will be responsible for training coordination and will provide support services to a large and diverse customer base.
Job duties will include proctoring, course scheduling, course registration, run training status reports, records management, and classroom management.
The Training Coordinator 2 will work on the premises of the Laboratory and required to demonstrate good judgment in selecting techniques for obtaining solutions working under limited direction.
What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: Administrative Training Support, Organization and Planning Experience compiling and generating reports, managing and tracking information and data using electronic databases.
Demonstrated excellence in organization and planning skills with close attention to detail with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptive to change and tight deadlines.
Proven ability to take initiative working well in an environment with constant change in direction.
Training Coordination/Classroom Management Working knowledge of creating, modifying and scheduling employee training plans, scheduling and preparing classroom settings with the ability to compile, reproduce large volume training materials.
Business Systems Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and shared business systems (example: Learning Management Systems, Oracle, Google Drive, Teams, etc.
).
Customer Service/Communication Demonstrated experience providing quality customer service by effectively building and maintaining professional working relationships with customers and all staff levels, both internal and external.
Ability to provide strong customer service providing clear, concise support and guidance, and a record of dealing effectively with conflict.
Teamwork Experience working in a complex organization of diverse operations, combined with a demonstrated ability to function collaboratively with varying teams.
Education/Experience: High school diploma and a minimum of 2 years related experience.
Desired Qualifications: • Working knowledge of Laboratory objectives and other statements of applicable policy/practice/procedures.
• Knowledge of DOE orders and standards pertaining training.
• Working knowledge as a proctor for required institutional exams; provide Lab-wide training services utilizing UTrain (Learning Management System).
• Working knowledge of standard software applications (Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint).
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to use of LANL business systems (Outlook, ACCESS, Oracle, UTrain, etc.
).
• Working knowledge of common audio-visual and office equipment.
Location: This position will be located in Los Alamos, NM.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
