Antique Moroccan / Berber handmade wool carpet (1) - $999 (El Prado)

This is a handmade, antique, Moroccan carpet from the Berber tradition.
It has been in my family for over 100 years.
My grandparents lived in French Morocco from 1915 or so until the end of the protectorate in 1958.
They purchased many beautiful artisanal works during their life.

As is expected for an item of this age, there are some holes and such.
They do not detract from the overall beauty of the carpet.
Measurements: about 9ft long x 67-70" wide.

I believe that this piece was woven in sections and then put together.
The designs are varied and show this.
It is more narrow than long and I'm thinking it was used as a covering of a bench or "banco-style" sitting area which is typical of Moroccan living.
Many family photos show how this would have been used in a tent or other such outdoor seating area.
As a Berber carpet, I believe it would have travelled around with the tribal people before my grandfather, who was in the French Morocco administration, would have purchased it.
