Position Summary: The CAMP Project Director is responsible for all facets of the design, implementation, administration, and evaluation of the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) at Adams State University.
The director will supervise the process for identifying potential students, verifying project eligibility, selecting participants, and assessing and tracking student and project success.
Responsibilities include establishing a system for ensuring compliance with Department of Education and CAMP program requirements.
The director will provide leadership, supervision, and training to permanent and student program staff.
In-state and out-of-state travel is required.
This is a twelve-month full-time (1.
0 FTE) administrative grant-funded position.
Specific Job Duties (Essential Functions and Responsibilities): Develop partnerships with high schools, migrant education programs, migrant service agencies and other organizations to maximize/coordinate resources and deliver services; Work with program staff and consultants to develop and implement a strategic outreach plan for recruitment of project participants; Develop and coordinate program application and selection process; Provide direct supervision for program staff, including recruitment/retention specialist, peer mentors, peer tutors, and student administrative assistants; Develop program materials and website; Develop an academic success strategy for CAMP students; Coordinate student support services (mentoring/tutoring), events, and linked courses for Residential Learning Community (RLC); review student progress portfolios regularly; Develop and coordinate Latino Leadership seminar in careers as part of RLC; Perform expenditure/staff time tracking and internal bookkeeping; Monitor compliance with CAMP guidelines by developing and director the project according to US Department of Education guidelines, including preparation of reports, research, and grant requests; Compile data regularly, facilitate program evaluation and improvement; responsible for Annual Performance Reports for US Department of Education.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or related field and 5 years related experience working with underserved or bilingual populations; Experience developing, managing, and evaluating program effectiveness; Personnel supervision and fiscal management experience; Fluent/literate in English/Spanish; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task; Ability to work with staff and community leaders with diverse backgrounds; Experience working with migrant or at-risk, underserved populations; Ability to travel and participate in periodic evening and weekend activities; Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite Preferred Qualifications and Salary: Master's degree in education, counseling, or related field Experience working in a higher education environment Knowledge and experience working with DREAMers (ASSET, DACA, and Undocumented students) in a Higher Education setting.
Salary: $56,250 to $63,500.
