Why does the job exist?
This position is responsible for oversight of dally operations of the Disease Intervention specialists (DIS), DIS Leads and Advanced DIS.
The main goal of this position is to ensure proper and timely case management that Is essential to disease prevention and allows the team to function most efficiently.
This position directly supervises and oversees the team of DIS.
This position is responsible for receipt and review of disease morbidity, assignment of cases for Investigation, and review of the work of the case investigators and provides timely feedback and direction for further action.
Time sensitive case review and directive guidance of critical case management activities is essential to stopping the spread of STD's which Is the overall goal of the STD program.
How does it get done?
Overseeing daily activities for the Disease Intervention Team.
Oversee schedules, approve requests, create and close evaluations, create audits, establish and implement timely and effective processes to mitigate transmission of STDs, HIV and Hepatitis.

Priority communities, providers, agencies
Ideal Candidate
At least 3 years of STD/HIV/Hepatitis experience, with 1 year experience supervising a team.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Public Health or Education and two (2) years of experience in a health related field.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPPA) and successful completion of Clinical Laboratory Improvements Act (CLIA) are required within sixty (60) days of employment.
Position will require Blood-borne pathogen training within thirty (30) days as condition of continued employment.
