Why does the job exist?
The Staff Manager/State Disbursement Unit Manager will:
Ensure child support collections and validation of outbound disbursements of child support payments reach custodial parents timely and accurately;
Provide collection and payment tracking information to New Mexico and other State's Child Support Services Departments (CSSD), legal and constituent parties for case research and follow up.
How does it get done?
The Staff Manager/State Disbursement Unit Manager is responsible for:
Overseeing the depositing and posting of all child support payments collected on behalf of the custodial parents in the Child Support Enforcement System (CSES) within established time frames;
Serving as point of contact for child support collections and banking services;
Working with department staff to reconcile the CSES account and SHARE general ledger accounts;
Implementing new initiatives or business processes to meet department goals in efficiency and cost savings.
Who are the customers?
Parties of Child Support cases
Employers, interstate agencies and other entities who submit child support payments to the State of New Mexico via cash, check, money order and other electronic methods; ;
Internal and external staff who have vested interest in the operation of the State Disbursement Unit.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has:
Five (5) years direct supervisory experience;
Bachelor's degree in any field of study;
Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task and is detail oriented;
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
Ability to use Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software for analysis;
Experience using SHARE Financials/HCM.
Minimum Qualification
A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License;
Defensive Driving Certificate;
Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal history background investigation and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
Extended periods of sitting.
Must be able to lift 25lbs.
