*About the San Luis Valley* The San Luis Valley is located in beautiful south-central Colorado.

* La Puente is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving Colorado's San Luis Valley by providing food, shelter, and advocacy for the homeless and community members in crisis.
La Puente was founded in 1982 and endeavors to meet immediate needs and to empower people to live independently with dignity.
The organization operates a homeless shelter and soup kitchen, a network of 15 food pantries, crisis prevention and outreach services, support for families and a transitional living program, after school and summer program for at-risk children, and a community garden and nutrition education program, among others.
*Job title* _Director of Volunteer Coordination (DVC)_ *Reports to* _Executive Director_ *Supervises* _Community Volunteer Coordinator (CVC), Summer Volunteer Coordinator (SVC)_ *Supported by* _Team Leaders_ *Works with* _Street Outreach, Community Education, and every program at varying times_ *Job purpose* The La Puente Director of Volunteer Coordination (DVC) recruits, schedules and supports individual volunteers and work groups in service -rich activities to assist meeting the needs of La Puente programs and to educate participants on the issues of poverty and its symptoms, homelessness and hunger, in order to more deeply connect others with the overall mission and programs of La Puente.
*Full Program duties and responsibilities* The following duties and responsibilities reflect the entire program and are implemented by the program director alongside supervised program staff.
