MISSION STATEMENT To Inspire Christ-like change through Outdoor Adventure Authentic Relationships and Biblical Truth Location and Community: Glorieta Camps is a 2400-acre property located in the southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains, 20 miles southeast of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The community’s makeup determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here.
The camp currently has approximately 100 people who live on-site year-round, including full-time staff and families.
Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but calls for somewhat remote living.
Job Description Position Title: Director of Guest Services Department: Guest Services Reports to: Executive Director or Assistant Director Location: Glorieta Camps - Glorieta, New Mexico Job Purpose: To fulfill our mission by managing all areas of Camp Operations, which may include Maintenance, Food Service, Janitorial Needs, Housekeeping, and Retail.
Job responsibilities: This is a highly self-motivated position with the ability to manage various projects and people simultaneously.
Leading and solving problems creatively and on the go is crucial.
A willingness to perform routine tasks regularly and on time, with deadlines weekly and monthly.
This position requires collaboration with the Guest Relationship and Operations team to lead Glorieta in accomplishing its mission and vision and upholding the values of the organization.
Food Services Oversee kitchen management of both the main kitchen and Family camp kitchen, ensuring customer satisfaction with camp meals Produce metrics regarding food costs, food waste, and meals served.
Oversee kitchen management, and ensure customer satisfaction with camp meals Responsible for Risk Management in the kitchen, ensuring that the camp kitchen meets Health Code and all other required standards, maintaining and documenting ongoing training, evaluating and problem-solving as needed.
Responsible for managing the department budgets in all regards Guiding, direction, and ensuring quality in all areas of Food Service Provide leadership and management of food service personnel Ensure efficiencies in food service Housekeeping Oversee housekeeping management Guiding, directions, and ensuring quality in all areas of Housekeeping Develop and implement effective and efficient housekeeping standards Responsible for Risk management in housekeeping Ensure Customer Satisfaction in cleaning and housekeeping Establish and communicate policies and procedures that meet and agree with customer service standards.
Other: (future tasks) Oversee the adult volunteer program and service team Manage scheduling and program assignments for adult volunteers Manage Retail Department Manage retail ordering strategy and budget Guiding, directing, and ensuring quality in all aspects of the adult volunteer program and retail department ** The preceding list is not exhaustive of all duties and responsibilities.

** Other duties of ALL Glorieta staff: Glorieta Adventure Camps operates year-round.
In a typical year, the camp serves over 35,000 guests.
Serving guests is our number one priority, and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity.
Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of the camp property, recruiting trips, sales trips, and work projects as needed.
Staff may also be required to work certain weekends as needed.
Character, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience: The “ideal” Candidate will have: A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to scripture that permeates into all aspects of his/her life Bachelor’s degree preferred or appropriate year of experience and knowledge related to business administration 5 years of management experience Ability to manage a variety of projects at a time Ability to solve problems creatively Strong desire to learn new things quickly The capability to communicate well with team members, staff, and guests Ability to utilize and engage with multiple computer softwares and platforms Work Context: This position will be performed primarily on location at the Glorieta, New Mexico location Travel : Occasional travel will be required for this position and some of its responsibilities Physical Demands: Candidate must be able to: Sit and focus on a single task for several hours at a time Some lifting of heavy objects will likely be required Ability to walk for long distances across varying terrain Work Environment: Will split time working equally inside/outside depending on the needs of camp and the busyness of the season.
Training: Employees will be given the opportunity to advance their skills through appropriate training.
