Position
Under general supervision, performs marketing and outreach activities related to the promotion of the District and its services; assists in the development and expansion of transit promotional programs; coordinates ridership and community outreach projects; fosters and manages District partnerships; performs activities related to creating marketing, customer, and public information materials; conducts ridership and other promotions; creates and supports District branding efforts; supports community partnerships and community events; and performs related work as required.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with community organizations, local businesses, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders to form strategic partnerships that support and enhance transit services.
Collaborates with partners to identify opportunities for joint marketing efforts, promotional events, community outreach and education initiatives.
Advocates for public transit by engaging with key decision-makers, attending relevant meetings, and communicating the benefits of transit to the community.
Evaluates and develops plans and programs designed to engage stakeholders in communities and Native Lands across North Central New Mexico – advocating for public transit and creating linkages with workforce development, healthcare, housing and community services, education, mental health, substance abuse solutions, and disability needs and requirements.
Collaborates with the Planning and Projects Division to organize and conduct public meetings, workshops, surveys, and focus groups to collect input and feedback from the community on transit service changes, proposals, and programs.
Analyzes public feedback and prepare comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations for management and decision-making purposes.
Assists with the development and implementation of highly targeted, creative and effective promotional campaigns to increase ridership on specific routes or for particular destinations.
Utilizes various marketing channels, including social media, advertising, and community events, to promote transit services and encourage ridership growth.
Monitors the effectiveness of promotions and campaigns and adjust strategies as needed to achieve ridership goals.
Collects and analyzes data related to ridership, marketing initiatives, public outreach, and the customer experience.
Oversees the implementation of a customer satisfaction survey.
Utilizes data-driven insights to support decision-making and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of partnership, promotions, and public involvement initiatives.
Coordinates promotional community-based activities including marketing campaigns, site-based promotions, and special events; coordinates marketing efforts with local jurisdictions, partner agencies, press and advertising contacts, consultants, and community vendors; represents the District at community events.
Observes and complies with all District and mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration, public relations, marketing, communications, or a related field.
Experience:
Five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in marketing and communications including experience with partnership development, community engagement, and public involvement initiatives.
