Why does the job exist?
The purpose of the this position is to provide customer service and assist with insurance disputes with consumer complaints against life & health, property & casualty, and New Mexico Warranty Act
companies .
The position functions as a technical advisor with specialized knowledge in the insurance claims and complaint process.
The position opens cases and corresponds with the consumer
and the insurance entity.
Additionally, the position provides awareness to inform consumers of their insurance rights.
How does it get done?
Provide customer service and assist with insurance disputes with consumer complaints against life & health , property & casualty, and New Mexico Warranty Act companies.
The position functions as
a technical advisor with specialized knowledge in the insurance claims and complaint process, ensuring companies and consumers are in compliance with NM Insurance Code, OSI regulations.
The
position uses a high level of complex problem solving, critical thinking, and communications skills by researching laws, Insurance code and OSI regulations and identify and determine potential
violations by Insurance companies and potential referrals to civil investigations bureau.
Opens cases and corresponds with the consumer and the insurance entity via email, telephone, and postal mail, and provides supporting documentation and relevant information to both parties
throughout the complaint process.
All case information and documentation is recorded and stored in our database (SBS) in a transparent and organized manner.
Provides awareness and outreach to inform consumers of their insurance rights.
Compiles and
maintains case data required for weekly bureau meetings .
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in investigations, regulation, policy, statutory, and/or contract compliance.

Employment Requirements
Must possess a valid New Mexico Driver's license, a current defensive driving course certification from the State of New Mexico or must pass Defensive Driving Course Certificate within six months of the date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
Occasional local and in-state travel may be required.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
